In the latest project, experts from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences were able to successfully clone a healthy male rhesus macaque using a more sophisticated technique called somatic cell nucleus transfer.
Scientifically speaking, there are still several steps to go before human cloning. For example, scientists have yet to clone a member of the great ape genus, such as a chimpanzee or gorilla. However, it seems that the world is already concerned about establishing an ethical framework for such research.
